COA before any sale or transfer
TestingLast verified Nov 1, 2026
Get a passing certificate of analysis (COA) for every final batch before any sale or transfer, and keep COAs on-site for 7 years. Never sell or transfer product that failed testing.
Why it matters
Selling without a COA on file is one of the most serious inspection findings, and dispensaries are checked for it too.
Applies to Grower/Processor/Dispensary/Transporter/Lab
Connected rules
- Lab samples — DEA limits what you can send to a lab and requires distribution records.
- Failed batches and remediation — Failed batches need documented remediation before retesting.
