Patient verification and sale limits

Verify every patient or caregiver in OMMA's verification system: name, license number, expiration date and photo. In a single transaction a dispensary may sell at most 3 oz (84.9 g) of marijuana, 1 oz (28.3 g) of concentrate, 72 oz (2,037.6 g) of edibles, and 6 mature and 6 seedling plants.
Why it matters
A sale outside these limits, or to an unverified buyer, counts as an unlawful sale with penalties under 442:10-5-6.1.

Connected rules
- Retail excise tax — Every retail sale also carries the 7% excise tax.
- Record retention: 7 years — Keep each sale's quantity, batch, date and value.
