Record retention: 7 years

Records & inspectionsLast verified Nov 1, 2026

Keep records on-site and readily accessible, on paper or electronically, for at least seven years from the date they were created. That includes COAs, sampling records, manifests, GPS records and waste records.

Why it matters

Seven years is longer than DEA's two-year minimum, so it sets the bar for every record you keep.

Applies to Grower/Processor/Dispensary/Transporter/Lab
